Ohi’a posts frame the entrance, leading into an open beam living area filled with light from both skylights and gable end windowed walls. Locally sourced tropical wood is featured beginning with the 8’ entrance door and matching rear door, a kitchen countertop and solid slab island, and vanities in both interior bathrooms, all made from the distinctive richly grained monkeypod. The stately Norfolk pine posts in the main room and the robusta railing caps on all 3 lanais were created from wood milled on the property. Except for tile floors in the bathrooms, the rest of the house has robusta flooring and baseboards, window and door trim. The 5 bedrooms are each trimmed with Douglas fir, and have solid fir doors.
